Ruth Bullock
Mental Health Practitioner
SEND and Therapeutic Practice
I am passionate about therapeutic practice and supporting children and young people to develop emotional regulation, resilience and a stronger sense of safety and self-worth. My experience with children and young people out of education due to Emotion Based School Avoidance and SEND alongside my professional role as a qualified Mental Health Practitioner and Foster Carer has strengthened my understanding of how relationships, attachment and life experiences can influence emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement.
I use a person-centred and creative therapeutic approach, adapting my communication and interventions to meet individual needs, including those of young people with SEND and emotional barriers to learning. I believe that consistent, trusting relationships and compassionate support provide the foundations for regulation and positive change.
I am committed to creating safe spaces where young people feel heard, understood and empowered to recognise their emotions, develop coping strategies and build confidence in advocating for themselves. I value collaborative working with families and professionals to ensure therapeutic support is meaningful, holistic and focused on helping each young person feel safe, connected and able to thrive.
